Amadi Anene serves as a TDC Fellow with Advisory Services, where he leads place-based initiatives in cities nationally.
Formerly, Amadi was an appointee in President Obama’s administration, where he was the Senior Advisor to the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). As Senior Advisor, Amadi focused on creating economic opportunity through lending in cities across the country, and led programs and initiatives that increased capital to entrepreneurs, drove federal contracts to small businesses, and expanded workforce development efforts to small businesses. Amadi also served as the SBA lead on interagency task forces focused on city and community economic development.
Prior to the SBA, Amadi worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he specialized in advanced analytics and financial services for public and private sector companies. In the public sector, he has worked with eight federal government agencies on a variety of policy issues including healthcare, energy, defense, finance, labor and employment.
Amadi is passionate about entrepreneurship and creating economic opportunities for communities through small business, and frequently speaks and advises on such issues. Amadi is a graduate of Harvard College, and holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
