You may have seen or heard news reports that a set of local elections in the United Kingdom earlier this month did not go well for the opposition Labour Party. The liberal-left party lost more than 300 local councilors and lost control of several longstanding Labour municipal strongholds. There was an important element missing in those election reports, though.
