Las nacionalizaciones vuelven (una vez más) para salvar al capitalismo… ¡en tiempos de crisis!

Los procesos de intervencionismo, de nacionalización de empresas, en países como EEUU es una recurrente tradición cultural. Tan americana como el Apple Pie, dice Thomas M. Hanna, director de investigación en Democracy Collaborative y autor de Nuestra riqueza Común: el Retorno a la Propiedad Pública en EEUU, en un artículo publicado en la revista Jacobin, donde hace un repaso de esta práctica habitual; sobre todo, en tiempos de crisis.

A pesar de «las largas décadas de narrativa neoliberal» que construyó un mensaje de «ineficiencia y debilidad» alrededor de todo lo que sea considerada economía gubernamental, incluida su manifiesta incapacidad para genera un clima idóneo para los negocios.

The interventions, the nationalizations of businesses, in countries like the United States is a recurring cultural tradition. It is, in fact, as American as Apple Pie, says Thomas M. Hanna, research director at the Democracy Collaborative and author of Our Common Wealth: The Return of Public Ownership in the United States, in an article published in the magazine Jacobin, where he reviews this common practice; especially in times of crisis.

This is despite “the long decades of neoliberal narrative” that have created a message of “inefficiency and weakness” around everything that is considered governmental meddling in the economy, including its inability to cultivate a good climate for business.
