Northwell joins 38 health systems in declaring racism a public health crisis

Demanding racial equity Mobilizing anchor institutions

HAN member Northwell Health signed onto Healthcare Anchor Network’s statement “It is undeniable: Racism is a public health crisis.” Northwell Health’s to improving health outcomes for vulnerable and underrepresented communities is highlighted in articles on The Island Now, CBS New York, Newsday,, Inside Edition, Innovate Long Island and WCBS 880. In these articles, Northwell Health commits to taking actions such as investing, procuring and hiring locally and engaging patients and staff of color to modify behaviors to learn from those collective experiences.
