Isaiah Poole
Senior Fellow
Isaiah Jerome Lewis Poole is a Senior Fellow with The Democracy Collaborative, working with us on communications and strategy. He was previously Vice President for Communications for The Democracy Collaborative, having joined the organization in 2018 as editorial manager for The Next System Project. Prior to that, he was communications director for People’s Action and for the Campaign for America’s Future, where he was editor of OurFuture.org, the organization’s website and blog. He has worked as a journalist and editor for most of his career, with much of his reporting focused on Washington D.C.-area and national politics. He was a founding member of both the Washington Association of Black Journalists and the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association. He is a native Washingtonian with a B.A. in journalism from Penn State University. He serves on the board of The Laura Flanders Show, and is a part-time communications associate for the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network and an adult education tutor with Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington.
